So, who am I?

Well, my background is normal—well, normal for me, at least. You can decide how normal it seems to you.

I’m the oldest of five and, from an early age, I somehow fell into the role of fixer. No one asked me to, but it shaped who I became. I felt responsible for everything and everyone. If something was broken, I had to sort it, no questions asked.

And that pattern followed me through every part of life. Relationships. Friendships. Work…

Looking back, I can see how overwhelmed I was, constantly chasing affirmation by being the one who handled everything. But no matter how much I did, it never quite felt like enough.

Only in the last couple of years have I stepped back and started untangling the patterns that kept me trapped in a cycle of anxiety, over-responsibility, and never feeling like I measured up. And honestly? It’s been life-changing.

I’ll share more about my journey in other blogs—there’s a lot to unpack (and, yes, I can smile, laugh and joke about it now, because it’s my ‘stuff’ and humour helps).

But where am I now?

From being a wife and working mum to becoming a widow, raising 2 teenage boys, living a life with and through loss, I know am living my best life as a mum, a Nana to my first grand baby, running my own business and find myself, knowing and liking who I am.

I have flaws but don’t we all, I embrace them and identify as “flawsome” which we all are when we stop striving for perfection.

I spent most of my life trying to live up to expectations that weren’t even real, often just my perception of what people wanted from me so I could feel like I was “enough” for them. Bloody hell that’s been exhausting but no more…

Through learning, working with incredible people, and practicing self-compassion, I’ve created a life that feels lighter and brighter. And now, my purpose is simple:

To help others find that same lightness, that same freedom, and the belief that they are already enough.
